These are questions that always come from outside, but which I never ask or would ask myself. When I paint, I paint. For me it's always about painting itself.
As you paint, you get the feeling of making contact with the people. They are stories that I assign to you. This almost creates an intimacy with a person who only exists in my imagination. I don't question the “why”, I just let myself into it.
I shape the face and body based on area and color. And it's like I'm actually touching the body.
As soon as I start working out the eyes and gaze
the character begins to communicate with me.
Only the character and I know the story it is about, which has built up in me and whenever our gaze meets or even follows me, a new story is built up.
Because of this, I don't want to answer these questions, but rather wish the viewer their own stories and feelings about my pictures.
Mr Müller, you do not use models!? I am very surprised about this because your art is so much like a real person was in front of you and you caught his essence, mood, character, emotions, etc. No models means you are better than I thought, because it all really comes out of your imagination, and it seems that you have a very clear and educated mind from where all these beautiful and manly men forms come from. Thank you for sharing all this artwork with us.
